Born and raised in the rainy streets of Seattle, I spent my fair share of time inside, staring out rain-streaked windows and writing novels. I used to start one novel after another, sometimes working on several different novels at the same time.
In college I had the opportunity of being on the editorial board of Highline Community College’s annual publication, Arcturus. That was where I published my first short stories, and really started to work on my craft.
I started writing NaNoWriMo novels in 2010 and my writing life changed dramatically. I had written many novels prior to doing NaNoWriMo, but afterward I realized that I could actually write a novel, I could finish one.
When my first child came along, things changed a lot for me, but I still worked on my craft. Life has been interesting since then. I now have two beautiful daughters, and my life is full of dirty diapers, tickle fights, and short bouts of writing at every opportunity I get.
